You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense by Charles Bukowski (Black Sparrow Press Hardcover, 12th Printing, 1998)

One of Charles Bukowski’s best-known poetry collections, You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense was originally published by Black Sparrow Press in 1986. This later Black Sparrow hardcover printing retains the distinctive publisher design, with cream paper-covered boards, black cloth spine, and bold geometric typography.

This copy is the twelfth printing, issued in 1998, as stated on the copyright page. The volume contains 313 pages and includes many of Bukowski’s characteristic poems on solitude, work, relationships, aging, and the everyday absurdities of life.

Condition: Fine. Exceptionally clean overall, with bright boards, sharp corners, a tight binding, and clean interior pages. Very little evidence of handling or use. The book also comes with a custom-fitted clear plastic protective cover, cut specifically to fit the volume. This edition was issued without a conventional dust jacket, so the fitted cover provides added protection while leaving the original boards fully visible.
