Originally published in 1979, Ford’s memoir recounts his path from Congress to the vice presidency and ultimately the presidency following Richard Nixon’s resignation, as well as the defining events of his administration and his controversial decision to pardon Nixon.

This handsome 1987 Easton Press edition was produced as part of the publisher’s presidential collection. It is bound in full red leather and features an elaborate gilt design centered around the White House, with gilt borders and presidential motifs to the boards and spine. Additional premium Easton Press features include raised spine bands, all edges gilt, archival-quality paper, decorative endpapers, and a sewn-in silk ribbon marker.

Most importantly, this is the signed Collector’s Edition, with a dedicated limitation-style page stating: “This specially bound Easton Press Collector’s Edition is signed by President Gerald R. Ford,” followed by Ford’s original signature.
